 Causey Starts 2003 Season
  Posted On: February 19, 2003
FrogDog Racing driver Jeff Causey commenced the drive for a championship in the BRS West Shooters division this past weekend at Daytona in the Jose Cuervo 300. Sporting new sponsorship paint courtesy Tiffany & Co., Causey had a poor qualifying run, leaving him starting in 14th out of a 16 car field. Staying clean for the early part of the race, Causey was able to slowly move up due to attrition. A smack from HarryBRS on lap 81 going into turn 3 put Causey into the wall with some minor damage. On the restart, J_Guiher tried to push the issue as the cars came up to speed and tagged Causey from behind going down the backstretch. This effectively ended Causey's night, though his persistence did pay off with a top 10 finish. Causey blamed a poor gear selection just prior to the race for his woes. Coupled with an 8th place finish in the Jeramie Eveland Memorial 300 the prior weekend, the FrogDog team came away from Daytona satisfied with solid performances at a track they typically have trouble at.

Causey runs nose to tail for the first third of the race with RR22 and mjelinek as the three try to keep the rest of the field in sight.

Causey Still Racing; New Sponsor for Season Ending Run
  Posted On: November 04, 2002
It has been awhile since the FrogDog Racing web team has updated the site, but trust us - Causey has still been racing. Just to catch everyone up, Causey did take a leave of absence for about three weeks from the Outlaw Series due to undisclosed medical reasons. On returning, the team sponsored a new Wild Thornberrys theme. Since the return though, Causey has struggled to find speed and consistency. The one shining event was the recent run at Martinsville where Causey managed to avoid contact with anyone else and the walls - quite a feat at the short track.

With the final three races of the season upon the team, and any hope of picking up an Outlaw Series ride for next year, the team brought on new temporary sponsor Mountain Dew Code Red. Unfortunately for Causey, the Rock proved brutal as he caught the end of the pit road wall about a quarter of the way through the race, ending the day early.

Causey about to catch the end of the pit road wall squarely. Telemetry from the "black box" would show Causey slowed from 92 mph at impact to zero practically instantaneously (less than one second).

 Causey Continues Struggle At Pocono
  Posted On: June 11, 2002
FrogDog Racing driver Jeff Causey continued his stuggles in the BRS Outlaw Series this week at Pocono for the Rock'em Sock'em 200. Causey suffered a setback early in the week when it was discovered his car had some faulty brakes. Luckily, the crew was able to acquire some new equipment and get it ready before race time.

The race itself saw Causey start from 15th position out of 18 drivers that showed up. Things were fine for Causey who was off the pace, but slowly improving his car with pit adjustments. That is until lap 16 when -Runner-BRS got into the back of Causey through the tunnel turn. This spun Causey around. Though he suffered no damage, getting the car straight and making a pit stop for some fresh rubber left Causey two laps down.

Causey eventually made up one lap, only to be punted by Mention-BRS down the Long Pond straight. This resulted in a severe impact for Causey on both the inside and outside walls and left his car running on only 7 cylinders for the end of the race.

The team is still awaiting final results, but unofficially Causey took a 14th place finish. The only bright spot to this is that it keeps a streak alive for Causey of finishing every race better than he started. Causey is also proving to be one of the more reliable Outlaw drivers having completed a majority of the laps and taking no DNF's thus far this year.

-Runner-BRS gets into the back of Causey going into the tunnel turn...

...sending Causey spinning in a billow of smoke.

Mention-BRS gets into the back of Causey...

...sending Causey hard into the inside wall...

...then hard into the outside wall...

...leaving Causey with a stunted car and 7 cylinders to finish the race.

Another Gritty Performance by Causey at Dover
  Posted On: June 04, 2002
With the humbling experience of Lowe's behind him, Jeff Causey and the rest of the FrogDog Racing team decided to step things up a notch for the Dover 200 this past weekend. Causey had a surprisingly good qualifying, 16th overall. The race itself was fairly uneventful for Causey who remained not quite up to speed with the front runners at Dover. However, Causey was able to keep out of any trouble and eventually guided the Wicked Weasel Dodge to an 11th place finish in unofficial results.

Causey managed to avoid getting in any trouble at Dover, even though there were some close calls like this action on lap 5 at Dover.

Several frontrunners got nailed for passing under yellow on lap 105 when the officials lost track of Nek_Noslen. Here, Causey avoids the same fate by waiting for Noslen to just get by him before entering the pits.

Whew! Once again, Causey narrowly escapes trouble when he and -Runner-BRS squeeze by a practically stopped Sully** on lap 151.

Causey just managed to hold off shfty40 on the final lap. shfty40 drives for Causey's Blue Cobalt Motorsports team.

 Disaster for Causey at Lowe's
  Posted On: May 24, 2002
After a week off due to the rainout at Darlington, the FrogDog Racing team and driver Jeff Causey were back in action at Lowe's for the BRS Southern Motorsports 360. Causey felt good about the race as he had a nice, stable car to get things started. Unfortunately, disaster would strike early on lap 3 when Causey was rear-ended while avoiding a big pile-up coming out of turn 4. The hits were not the bad part. What did hurt was Causey ending up on his side - until the pace car popped him over. This would put Causey a lap down, though he would eventually make it up.

The rough times continued for Causey on lap 16 when he drifted up into FlasH going through turns one and two, causing a massive pileup of the field. Later in the race, Causey and Sully** would meet up going into turn 3 after Causey came out from the pits.

Perhaps worst of all was a disco that Causey suffered - the first in about two years. This would put him several laps down and in 13th position about halfway through the race.

Actually, things would get much worse for Causey who lost control going into turn 1 and caught Runner-BRS, running second at the time, with only 8 laps to go. The only bright spot in the weekend was the determination of the team and Causey, who could have packed it in early, especially after the disco. Causey kept plugging away though and managed to secure a top ten finish, his second of the season.

Not the view Causey wanted to see when he came to a stop after a wreck on lap 3.

Just waitin' on the wrecker!

Ouch! Causey really screws up and nearly takes the second place car out of contention with less than 10 to go.

Pit Crew Hiccup Lands Causey in 13th at Richmond
  Posted On: May 06, 2002
The BRS Outlaw Series headed to Richmond this past weekend for the Sourmash 160 presented by River City Racing and FrogDog Racing owner/driver Jeff Causey felt ready. After putting in considerable practice, Causey felt confident after his last visit to the track saw him running as high as second place late in the race.

Causey's plan was to take things easy for the first part of the race. Unfortunately, despite efforts to stay out of a mess, Causey ended up getting involved with a spinning Nek_Noslen on lap 63. The resulting damage was not so bad, but the FrogDog pit crew dropped the ball, keeping Causey in the pits so long that he lost a lap to the leaders. Causey soldiered on and his patience paid off as he picked up 6 spots late in the race to grab a 13th place finish, first car a lap down and just managing to hold off Hogar*PIK at the checkered flag.

Causey slams on the brakes to try to avoid a spinning Nek_Noslen in turn 2 at Richmond. The damage to the car wasn't bad, but the team paid the price with a bad pit stop.

With a green/white flag finish, Causey had his hands full holding off Hogar*PIK to take 13th place.

Tough Day for Causey On Way to Cali Finish
  Posted On: April 30, 2002
California proved to be a tough spot to race for FrogDog Racing driver/owner Jeff Causey. After almost failing to make the race due to sierra.com problems, Causey managed to slide in and posted a qualifying time. Unfortunately, he was going to have to rely on a setup that was only halfway complete - though some late adjustments and in-race adjustments seemed to help. Unfortunately, Causey got caught up in two incidents - one with one of his BCM drivers, Ian Kaul, and the other with Nek_Noslen in the Criminal Motorsports Hollywood Classic 250. Nevertheless, Causey drove on and managed to finish only one lap down in 15th place.

Causey and the rest of the field get ready to take the green flag to start the race.

Uh oh!!! Causey may have to dock the pay of Ian Kaul after getting the boot while under caution.

Causey Grabs 8th Place in Season Opening Dega Race
  Posted On: April 22, 2002
FrogDog Racing driver/owner Jeff Causey was patient and dodged almost all bullets en route to an 8th place finish in the Team Bullitt Dega 300 yesterday in the Bellstar Racing Series. Despite starting at the back of the field and getting spun on the first restart, Causey stuck with the field and avoided most other wrecks. It was only with 3 laps to go that Causey barely clipped iggyis while in 5th place and probably on his way to a higher finish after the leaders wrecked. Limping home on three tires, Causey managed to hang on to 8th place to start the new season.

Causey about to take the green flag to start another season in the BRS Outlaw Series.

Causey holds off B_Helvey and Crash*PIK-BRS with 10 laps to go.

FrogDog Racing Announces New Sponsor for N2002 Season
  Posted On: April 04, 2002
As the FrogDog Racing team prepares for the upcoming fall season of racing NASCAR Racing 2002 in the Bellstar Racing Series, they have released shots of the new car. For the Fall 2002 season, driver Jeff Causey will be sporting the Wicked Weasel paintjob in the Outlaws division. "It will be kind of wierd running a black car all around the track," commented Causey who is more accustomed to bright colors.

Causey Takes 19th in 500 after engine failure
  Posted On: February 13, 2002
The FrogDog Racing team was pumped about competing in a 500 mile race this past weekend, having qualified during the FrogDog Racing Twin 125's of the Bellstar Racing Series. Causey qualified dead last in the field, but avoided a major wreck on lap 3 to move up to the top 20. From there, he had to work with Kern-BRS for a long green flag run to try to stay on the lead lap (which they were unable to do). After green flag pit stops, Causey was able to hook up with iggyis to turn some of his fastest laps of the race. Unfortunately, on lap 68, the Justice League Dodge threw a valve, sending the team to the hauler early.

The engine lets go through the tri-oval on lap 68. Causey was able to safely move off the racing line and make it back to the pits, where the team packed it in for the day.
